2014 LexisNexis® True Cost of FraudSM study
The 2013 LexisNexis® True Cost of FraudSM study, conducted by Javelin Strategy & Research, revealed that retailers experienced $2.79 in total losses for every $1 in fraud, a 4% increase over 2012 and a continuation in the pattern of rising fraud losses among merchants. Retailers participating in mobile and online channels experienced even greater losses, with their per-dollar cost of fraud totaling $2.83 and $3.10 respectively.
